I Come From Kirkuk, I Am A Turkoman
I am Kirkuk’s bard,
I write my poetry with blood,
Do not silence my azan,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
I am the Gürgürbaba’s apprentice,
The Turkish flag is my standard,
Don’t deplete my resource,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
My ancestry is of Oghuz,
My disposition is of Turkoman,
Such a great feast I have,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
I am the one sowing love in people,
I am the one beating the strange,
I am the one ripping off the stars from heaven,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
My wording is a rough one,
My night is a day time,
Fuzulî happens to be my mentor,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
I am the one from a village or town,
My pounding vein is of Turkish blood,
I am the one going only in God’s direction,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
My aim is to have freedom,
My great confidence in my nation,
I hold the patriots in high esteem,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
My heart aches,
I have my traces in history,
I have a huge past,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
I am the title of Turkishness,
I am the conscience of love
I am the red blood of Oghuz,
I come from Kirkuk, I am a Turkoman!
