An academician, poet, writer and editor, Şeref Akbaba was born in Erzurum. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Theology of Atatürk University. He completed his doctoral studies at the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University in the department of journalism. His works have appeared in various magazines and newspapers. His activities in the field of publication of literary magazines started in 1983 in Erzurum with Genç Kuşak (Young Generation) magazine. And his career in this sphere has reached its 17th anniversary with a literary magazine called Ay Vakti (Moon Time) which was chosen by Eskader in 2014 as the Magazine of the Year. Now he manages Ay Vakti. His poetry, essays and interview books continue to interest readers.
